Are these macros? I could also create them myself, right?

No. Macros are just lists of already existing Studio One commands that are executed in a sequence. When creating macros, you can only use commands that are already available in Studio One. Macros can't add new functionality.

Scripts, however, can add entirely new commands to Studio One that wouldn't be possible only by using macros. Besides scripting, this add-on also includes a number of macros that help you to get started with these new commands.

Is Scoring Tools compatible with Studio One 5?

Yes, Scoring Tools can be used in Studio One 5 as well (version 5.5.2 or later required). Some of the features are more convenient to use in version 6 due to some scripting features that aren't available in versions before 6.0 but most of the features work fine in Studio One 5 as well.

The exceptions are the Track Tags and Sync Point functions, which are only available in Studio One 6.

How to install the add-on?

  • Drag the .install file into Studio One (alternatively, drag it onto the Studio One icon)
  • Confirm to install the add-on and restart Studio One
  • Click the Macro Toolbar icon in the Studio One toolbar
  • If it's not visible by default, select the 'Scoring Tools' page in the drop-down list

How to update to the latest version of the add-on?

  • Click the Info button on the Scoring Tools toolbar to open the product page. It shows you if you're running the latest version or if there are new updates available.
  • To download a new version of the add-on, you find the download link in the email you received with the purchase of Scoring Tools.
  • Download the .install file and drag it into Studio One or onto the Studio One app icon.
  • A new update always replaces older versions of the add-on. No need to uninstall them manually.

How do I find the download to the latest update?

With your purchase of Scoring Tools, you received an email via our Shop software Payhip which contains a download link for the add-on. To find the email, you can search for the text "Studio One Scripts" in the subject or for "Payhip" as the sender.

Do I need to re-install the add-on with every new Studio One update?

No, the Scoring Tools add-on is officially signed by PreSonus. This means that once you've installed this add-on, it remains installed even if you update to a newer version of Studio One.

Is this a PreSonus product?

No, it's a 3rd-party product. Due to my close connection to the development team of Studio One and my work on previous versions of Studio One (I have developed the MIDI editing functions in Studio One 4), PreSonus has made it possible for me to develop and distribute additional scripting add-ons for Studio One. These will also be available in the PreSonus Shop soon.
